Jet Throw

The horizontal or vertical distance a supply air jet travels from the diffuser before its centerline velocity decays to a specified terminal velocity, typically 50 feet per minute. Throw is a primary diffuser selection criterion because it determines whether supply air reaches the occupied zone before mixing completely with room air.
