Infiltration

The uncontrolled and unintended movement of outdoor air into a building through gaps, cracks, and other unplanned openings in the building envelope. Unlike mechanical ventilation, infiltration varies with wind speed and indoor-outdoor temperature difference and cannot be reliably managed for indoor air quality.
