Heated Diode Leak Detector

A type of refrigerant leak detector that passes sampled air over a ceramic diode element heated to a high temperature, causing halogenated refrigerant molecules to ionize and produce a measurable change in current. It is sensitive to very low refrigerant concentrations but requires periodic tip replacement.
