VFD Carrier Frequency

The switching frequency of the insulated gate bipolar transistors in a VFD’s output stage, which determines how finely the output voltage waveform is synthesized. Higher carrier frequencies produce smoother motor current waveforms and less audible noise but increase drive heat generation and may stress motor insulation.
