dV/dt Filter

An output filter added to a VFD to slow the rate of voltage rise of each switching pulse, reducing insulation stress in motors fed through long cable runs. Without such filtering, voltage reflections at the motor terminals can produce transient spikes significantly exceeding the DC bus voltage.
