Active Front End

A VFD rectifier stage that uses switching devices rather than diodes to draw nearly sinusoidal current from the supply, dramatically reducing harmonic injection and allowing regeneration of energy back to the grid. AFE drives are used on large HVAC fans and chillers where power quality and energy recovery are priorities.
