Expansion Tank Acceptance Volume

The portion of an expansion tank’s total volume that is available to accept the thermal expansion of system water, determined by the pre-charge pressure, maximum system pressure, and minimum fill pressure. Correct acceptance volume prevents the pressure relief valve from opening during normal operation.
