Refrigerant Piping Pressure Test

A field procedure performed after lineset installation and before system startup in which dry nitrogen is introduced to the refrigerant piping at a specified pressure to verify that all joints are leak-free. Most manufacturers require a standing pressure test held for a minimum period before evacuation and charging.
