Cooling Degree Hours

The sum of hourly differences between outdoor dry-bulb temperature and a base temperature during hours when the outdoor temperature exceeds that base, providing finer temporal resolution than cooling degree days. They are useful for estimating equipment runtime and part-load energy use in cooling-dominated applications.
