Navisworks

Last updated: March 11, 2026

Navisworks is Autodesk’s project review software that aggregates BIM models from multiple disciplines into a unified 3D environment for coordination and clash detection. It enables stakeholders to visualize the complete building system, identify conflicts, and plan construction sequences before work begins. Navisworks processes files from Revit, AutoCAD, and other BIM platforms.

Coordination Capabilities

Navisworks allows users to animate construction schedules, verify equipment access paths, and simulate system operation. It supports real-time collaboration through cloud-based reviewing and generates detailed clash reports with coordinates and impact assessments. Users can measure distances, calculate volumes, and verify clearances against design specifications.

Construction Planning Value

Using Navisworks reduces coordination conflicts by 50-60 percent and prevents 20-30 percent of field change orders. It enables contractors to verify that 36-inch maintenance clearances exist for filter banks and motor bearings before construction starts. Navisworks reports are shared across trades weekly during preconstruction phases, improving schedule reliability and reducing rework costs significantly.
