Barometric Damper

A weighted, hinged flap installed in the flue pipe of an oil-fired or atmospheric gas appliance that automatically opens to admit room air when draft exceeds a set point, stabilizing draft at the burner. It prevents over-draft from drawing excessive combustion air and chilling the heat exchanger.
