Bimetallic Overload Relay

A thermal overload protection device using bimetallic strips that bend when heated by motor current, tripping the relay when the current exceeds the motor’s thermal capacity for a sustained period. The trip time is inversely proportional to the degree of overcurrent, approximating the thermal characteristics of the motor.
