Coil Suppression Device

Last updated: June 9, 2026

A component such as a diode, metal oxide varistor, or RC snubber connected across a contactor or relay coil to absorb the inductive voltage spike generated when the coil is de-energized. Without suppression, these transient spikes can damage sensitive electronic control circuits sharing the same power supply.
