A process that removes moisture from air by adsorbing or absorbing water vapor onto a solid or liquid hygroscopic material, regenerated periodically with heat. Unlike cooling-based dehumidification, it can effectively reduce humidity at low dry-bulb temperatures where refrigeration systems struggle.
