Direct-Expansion Evaporator

An evaporator in which refrigerant is metered by an expansion device and boils inside the tubes or channels while the process fluid or air flows on the outside, with vapor superheat controlled at the outlet. DX evaporators are standard in rooftop units, split systems, and smaller packaged chillers.
