Economizer Cycle (Refrigeration)

A refrigeration circuit enhancement that uses a flash tank or plate heat exchanger to subcool liquid refrigerant before the expansion device, improving system COP by returning flash vapor to an intermediate compressor stage. This is common in screw and centrifugal chillers to boost capacity and efficiency.
