Flash Injection

A technique used in cold-climate heat pump compressors where a portion of liquid refrigerant is injected into an intermediate stage of the compression process after being partially expanded, increasing refrigerant mass flow and low-temperature heating capacity. It is the mechanism enabling hyper-heat and similar cold-climate performance claims.
