GWP

Last updated: June 9, 2026

Global Warming Potential is a measure of how much heat a greenhouse gas traps in the atmosphere over a specified time horizon, typically 100 years, relative to carbon dioxide which has a GWP of 1. It is used in refrigerant regulations, building codes, and ASHRAE standards to evaluate the climate impact of refrigerants and to guide transitions to lower-impact alternatives.
