Indirect Evaporative Cooling

Last updated: June 9, 2026

A two-stage process where water evaporates into a secondary airstream that then cools a heat exchanger surface, lowering the primary supply air temperature without adding moisture to it. This avoids the humidity increase of direct evaporative cooling and can achieve supply air dew points below the ambient wet-bulb temperature.
