Rooftop Unit (RTU) Heat Exchanger

The gas-to-air heat exchanger inside a packaged rooftop unit through which combustion gases transfer heat to supply air while keeping the two streams separated, preventing carbon monoxide from entering the building. Cracked heat exchangers are a serious safety hazard requiring immediate equipment shutdown.
