Variable Primary Flow

A chilled water plant design in which the chilled water pumps serving the chiller evaporators vary their flow rate in response to system demand, rather than maintaining constant flow through the chillers at all times. This approach reduces pump energy and can improve chiller efficiency but requires careful control to maintain minimum flow through each chiller.
