VRF System

Last updated: March 10, 2026

VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) is a sophisticated HVAC technology used primarily in commercial and large residential applications. A single outdoor condensing unit connects to multiple indoor units throughout a building, with refrigerant flow precisely modulated to meet each zone’s exact needs.

VRF systems offer several advantages: simultaneous heating and cooling in different zones (heat recovery VRF), exceptional energy efficiency (often 30-40% more efficient than conventional systems), flexible zoning, and relatively quiet operation.

VRF systems are common in hotels, office buildings, schools, and luxury residences. Major manufacturers include Mitsubishi, Daikin, LG, Samsung, and Carrier. They require specialized installation and service training.
